Supervising Social Worker, Fostering Therapeutic Team

 

In this social work post, you will
 

• work with a specialist team of Social Workers and Practitioners to deliver a high-quality service to Suffolk Foster carers

• Providing statutory supervision and support to foster carers

• facilitate support groups and learning opportunities for foster carers

• receive regular reflective supervision and peer group supervision

• contribute creative and innovative ideas to improve practice in a well established and supportive team.

• work closely with the Therapeutic team to promote trauma informed care and attachment training, alongside our Therapeutic social workers and our Clinicians to support children and carers in their placements.

• work in partnership with the Placements team to match and place children needing foster placements and ensuring maximum use of in-house foster care placements.

• Work alongside childcare professionals to support children in their foster placements with regular communication and attendance at meetings.

• Undertake annual reviews and all statutory checks on fostering households within expected timescales – (required by Fostering Standards Regulations and guidance)

• Providing good quality, thorough and analytical recording and  reports.

• Supporting carers to move children on to adoptive families

• Supporting foster carers to take full responsibly for their ongoing professional development

• Facilitating support groups and other learning opportunities for foster carers.

• Participating in monthly ‘reflective supervision’ as well as individual supervision.

• Facilitate and offer therapeutic support to Foster Carers and  children

• Be curious about and able to work within a therapeutic framework, you must be highly self-reflective and able to model this with the foster carers you are working with

• Work in partnership with the Senior Clinicians across Camhs Connect and STF

• Facilitate and develop training opportunities for carers.

• Undertake Video Interactive Guidance work with Foster Carers.

• Facilitate Foster Carers support groups.

• Contribute to the support for 2 Mockingbird hubs.

• Lead on arranging activities for Fostering Families; Beach hut days, activity days at Thorpe Woodlands, Christmas Parties
